About Us

Single Moms of Central Florida, is a 501c3 non-profit organization established in Florida since 2009, exclusively for the purpose of offering and provide services, resource connections, growth-based training, and support for single parent families.  Also empower members of community and inspire them to reach better quality life. Our role is to create social change and lead a way to a better world.

1 in 4 children in the US are growing up in a single parent home. Single mothers/fathers have much higher likelihood to live in poverty, as they face incredible work/life balance issues.  Single parent families have unique needs and concerns constantly affecting their ineptitude to take effective action to overcome struggling situation.  The emotional and financial toll on most of these families is actually helping to create an event younger population single parents who are just children themselves.  During the past 25 years the proportion of children living in families headed by women has more than doubled from 1 in 10 to 1 in 5.

What We Do

SMOCFL exists and advocate to assist single parents struggling, making an effort to improve the lives of their children, often fail to qualify for government or charitable assistance; because they are earning an income, they are employed and working hard for their families but find it’s still not enough.  We work hard to establish needed services for single mothers/fathers and their children. Through workshops, trainings, community events we push past the boundaries or our own organization to empower members of our community including children and youths.  Through our work we change attitudes and behaviors in addition to providing high-quality programs and services to beneficiaries.

Our Story

SMOCFL it’s a growing community has already provided support, food, toys, beds, resources, clothing (including prom dresses), shoes, house wares, furniture, baby supplies, free community events and hope to families that are in the gap now.  SMOCFL vows to continue making a profound difference in the lives of single parents and their families in the years to come empowering and equipping single parent families with education, tools, trainings, mentoring and economic opportunities to live successful and productive lives.

Our Vision

Our vision and long-term goal is to develop a transition house to reach out the community and assist with necessities such as food, clothes, housing, transportation, and medical expenses, also help with expenses related to education, health, alleviating homelessness and help prevent youth to become homeless.  We let single parents and their children know that they are not alone and there are options and opportunities.

Our Beliefs

SMOCFL believes these single parents and all families in need deserve to be supported.  We believe in helping those who are working hard to help their family, but are struggling in doing so, and need our help.
